Sage Manufacturing Controller

Sage Line 50 Manufacturing Controller is designed to help Production Managers control materials, labour and machine costs within busy manufacturing environments. Manufacturing Controller helps manufacturers smoothly control production, works order processing with full batch traceability for materials control and tracking. Sage Manufacturing Controller is intended for use by both batch manufacturers and one off manufacturers. This product is a combination of Job Controller and Batch Controller with the powerful Sage scheduler powered by Preactor.

Line 50 Manufacturing Controller gives you a powerful system that integrates with Sage Line 50 Financial Controller accounts, to provide greater control of your business. There are several definable elements to Manufacturing Controller

Bill Of Materials
The Bill of Materials provides an unlimited number of components through unlimited number of levels so you can create detailed bills of materials for products to be manufactured. This means that you can easily identify material shortages and automatically raise purchase orders, selecting from a list of alternative
suppliers. Machine and labour operations as well as subcontract operations are included.

Planning
The Master Production Schedule (MPS) collects information from Line 50 Sales Order Processing, and the Manufacturing systems Sales Forecast and Make to Stock items. The collated demand is displayed onto one screen. This information is then processed through the MRP module which also checks existing stock levels and orders. MRP automatically calculates material shortages, both for bought-in and manufactured items. Appropriate recommendations are offered by the system. Each stock item can have an unlimited number of alternative suppliers. Each supplier record has details of lead times, cost prices, and supplier’s part numbers and minimum order quantity.

Stock Projection
The Stock projection calculates predicted levels of selected stock items over any chosen time period. When the recommendations have been accepted the program will automatically raise Works or Purchase Orders as appropriate.

Works Order Processing
Works orders can be created automatically from MRP recommendations or manually entered. All stock levels are automatically updated when you allocate and/or issue stock against the works orders. Picking lists, route cards, operation cards and job sheets may be generated. On completion of  works orders, stock is automatically updated, enabling goods to be despatched immediately. Furthermore, the Sage Line 50 manufacturing software can then consolidate one delivery note from a number of different sales orders.

Materials and Finished Product Traceability
You can track  material movements from receipt, through production processes to despatch. Multiple stock
locations for components, raw materials or sub-assemblies is supported. Powerful search facilities allow instant recall of any GRN record. If your processes involve issuing a batch number to finished products, Batch Controller  can record this, enabling you to trace it to the customers who received it.

Certificates of Conformity
Certificates of Conformity can be produced as required, confirming products are manufactured to ISO 9001
quality standards.

Graphical Planner powered by Preactor
Preactor International is the market leading specialist for planning and scheduling software. Working in
partnership with Preactor, Sage has created a specially configured integrated Graphical Planner providing a
planning tool that calculates and runs resource plans for all demands. The system allows different plans to be produced and saved for the same set of demands, so you can assess the impact on resources, for example, if adding overtime or extra shifts. Production can be sequenced and schedules may be produced based either ‘forwards’ from a start date or ‘backwards’ from a due delivery date. Resource bottlenecks can
be easily identified and the plan manipulated as required. Complete jobs by operation or individual resource schedules.
